About
The Museum began officially in 1980, as one room in the restored Jefferson County Courthouse. In 1991, the museum moved to the 1906 Union Pacific Depot, a building on the National Register of Historic Places. We are most grateful for larger accommodations, however now in 2011, we have outgrown these hallowed walls.
In 1980, there were meager artifacts but now the seams are straining. This has necessitated changing exhibits to include as much as possible of our wonderful collections. We rarely decline gifts offered to the museum and are so thankful to everyone for their spirit to share with others their treasures.
